Head-to-Head: Apple iPhone 18 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
When considering a new flagship phone, the iPhone 18 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra stand out as strong contenders. Each has different strengths, and we'll objectively review what each offers based on available specifications.
1iPhone 18 Pro: What It Does Better
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with refresh rate up to 120Hz (ProMotion), providing a smooth experience. It runs on the A20 Pro chip with ray tracing and Apple Intelligence support, paired with 12GB RAM and storage options up to 2TB. The rear camera system is triple 48 MP, with up to 8x optical zoom, and an 18 MP Center Stage front camera.
For battery, it supports fast charging up to 50% in about 15 minutes with a 60W or higher adapter, and MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W. It has IP68 water and dust resistance up to 6 meters for 30 minutes, and weighs 211 g.
However, there are drawbacks: no external memory card support, and it is eSIM only with no physical SIM support. The price in Egypt starts at 120,555 EGP at Noon, in Saudi Arabia from 8,699 SAR, and in the UAE from 5,599 AED. This phone suits those who prefer iOS and value high performance and a versatile camera, but it may not be ideal for those needing expandable storage or a physical SIM.
2Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: What It Does Better
The Galaxy S26 Ultra stands out with a large 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate and brightness up to 2600 nits, making it excellent for viewing in bright light. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The rear camera is quad: 200 MP (F1.4) + 50 MP (F2.9) + 50 MP (F1.9) + 10 MP (F2.4), and a 12 MP (F2.2) front camera.
The 5000 mAh battery lasts up to 31 hours of video playback and supports Super Fast Charging 3.0 at 60W. It has IP68 water and dust resistance and weighs 214 g. The built-in Privacy Display feature protects privacy.
On the downside: no charger in the box, the price is high compared to previous versions, and the Privacy Display feature may reduce color quality when enabled. The price in Egypt starts at 75,541 EGP at B.TECH, in Saudi Arabia from 3,699 SAR, and in the UAE from 3,299 AED. This phone is suitable for those who want a large screen, high-resolution camera, and long battery life, but it may not suit those looking for a lower price or an included charger.
Verdict
If you prefer iOS and want strong performance with a versatile camera and up to 8x optical zoom, the iPhone 18 Pro is an excellent choice. If you want a larger screen with higher brightness, a 200 MP camera, and a battery lasting up to 31 hours, the Galaxy S26 Ultra suits you. Keep in mind that the iPhone is more expensive in all three markets, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra comes without a charger and its Privacy Display may reduce color quality when enabled. Choose based on your needs and budget.
