Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra vs Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Which Should You Choose?
If you are looking for a flagship phone with advanced features, you might be choosing between the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Both offer strong specs but with different priorities. In this comparison, we look at what each phone does better, and honestly mention the drawbacks, to help you make the right decision.
1Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: What It Does Better
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is aimed at those who want the full Samsung experience with a standout display and privacy protection. It comes with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and brightness up to 2600 nits, making it very clear outdoors. It also features the Galaxy-exclusive Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and a 200 MP main camera with an F1.4 aperture for improved low-light photography.
Other strengths include the built-in Privacy Display feature for privacy protection, and a 5000 mAh battery lasting up to 31 hours of video playback. However, note that Privacy Display may reduce color quality when enabled. The phone also does not come with a charger in the box, and its price is high compared to previous versions.
The price in Egypt starts at 76,490 EGP at B.TECH, in Saudi Arabia from 3,699 SAR, and in the UAE from 3,299 AED. If your priority is Samsung's excellent display and the privacy feature, this phone is worth considering.
2Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: What It Does Better
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is aimed at those who want a huge battery, fast charging, and a versatile camera. It comes with a huge 8500 mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W wired and wireless reverse charging. It also features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset with a 2nm process, providing improved performance.
The camera system is also strong: a 200MP main camera (Light Fusion 960, f/1.67, OIS) + a 50MP ultrawide (102°, f/2.4) + a 200MP periscope telephoto (3.2x, f/2.4, OIS). The front display is 6.9 inches with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, and there is a 2.9-inch rear display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Drawbacks include being relatively heavy at 235 g, and wireless charging at only 50W compared to wired charging. The global price has not been announced yet, but the estimate in Egypt is about 58,400 EGP (estimate from the official US price before Egyptian taxes; no store price yet). If long battery life, fast charging, and a versatile camera matter to you, it is a strong option.
Verdict
Choose the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra if you prefer an advanced AMOLED display with high brightness, the Privacy Display feature, and the familiar Samsung experience, and you have a higher budget (76,490 EGP or 3,699 SAR or 3,299 AED). Choose the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max if the huge 8500 mAh battery, 100W fast charging, and the versatile camera with 200MP telephoto are your priority, and you are willing to accept a heavier weight and a price not yet announced globally (estimate in Egypt about 58,400 EGP).
