Honor launches Magic9, Magic9 Pro Max and Magic9 Super Edition in China

Honor has officially announced three new phones in Beijing: the Magic9, the Magic9 Pro Max and the Magic9 Super Edition. All three are already on sale in the Chinese market.
The Magic9 Super Edition starts at CNY 4,499 (about USD 670) for the 12GB/256GB version, CNY 4,999 for 12GB/512GB, and CNY 5,499 for 16GB/512GB. The Magic9 starts at CNY 4,999 (about USD 740) for 12GB/256GB and goes up to CNY 6,999 for 16GB/1TB.
The Magic9 Super Edition has a 6.81-inch LTPS OLED display at 2788 x 1280, a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,000 nits peak global brightness. It packs an 11,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging plus wireless power sharing, along with a 30,000rpm active cooling fan and a vapor chamber that together dissipate 12W of heat and improve cooling by 30%. It is 8.1mm thick and weighs 227g, with IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.
The Super Edition runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage, on MagicOS 11 (Android 17). Its cameras include a 200MP 1/1.55-inch main, a 50MP f/2.4 3x telephoto, a 12MP f/2.4 autofocus ultrawide, and a 50MP f/2.0 front camera with a 90-degree lens. Color options are Black, Olive Green, Yellow and White.
The Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max use ARRI co-branded cameras, while the Super Edition does not have ARRI features. Honor has only confirmed plans to sell the Pro Max outside China so far. CEO Li Jian said soaring memory and component costs drove the pricing, and that Honor would try not to pass all of it to buyers. Buyers in China get a government phone subsidy of 15%, up to about USD 70, bringing the cheapest Super Edition to about USD 600. Honor also launched the Watch 6 Pro (from about USD 250) and the China MagicPad 4 (from about USD 490) alongside the phones.
