Huawei has officially announced the Mate 90 Pro in China, saying it is the first phone powered by the new Kirin 9035 chip. The announcement also included the Mate 90 Pro Max.
The Mate 90 Pro starts at CNY 6,999 (around $1,045) for the 12GB+256GB model. Other configurations are 12GB+512GB at CNY 7,999, 16GB+512GB at CNY 8,499, and 16GB+1TB at CNY 9,999.
The Kirin 9035 sits below the Kirin 9050 (Pro) used in the Mate 90 Pro Max. Huawei claims it brings 11% CPU, 10% GPU, and 51% NPU improvements over the Kirin 9030 in the Mate 80 Pro.
The phone has a 6.75-inch second-generation Linglong display rated up to 12,000 nits peak brightness at 1% APL, with a dual-layer OLED structure and Zhuque display chip. It features three rear cameras: a 50MP RYYB main with F1.4-F4.0 variable aperture and OIS, a 50MP RYYB telephoto with 4x optical and 8x optical-quality zoom plus 5cm macro, and a 40MP RYYB ultrawide.
It packs a 6,600mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, rated for up to 41 hours of video playback. It ships with HarmonyOS 7 and includes a dedicated Mobile Security Processor with post-quantum cryptography support. Satellite messaging via BeiDou supports pictures and text but is limited to mainland China. It has IP68 (up to 6 meters) and IP69 ratings, and comes in Emerald Green, Amber Orange, Crystal White, and Obsidian Black. Prices are for China only, and Huawei's announcement does not include international pricing.
