Huawei has officially announced the MatePad Air Z tablet in China in two versions with a 12-inch display and up to 144Hz refresh rate.

Huawei has officially announced the MatePad Air Z tablet in China. It comes in two versions: the standard MatePad Air Z and the MatePad Air Z Enjoy Edition.
The device has a 12-inch IPS LCD with 2,800 x 1,840 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio, with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz that can switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz, reaching up to 900 nits of peak brightness. A PaperMatte display option is offered for a paper-like writing experience.
All variants share a 10,100mAh battery, and Huawei lists up to 16 hours of local video playback. The standard and Enjoy Edition models use the Kirin T93SD chipset, while PaperMatte variants use the Kirin T93S.
The standard model supports 66W fast charging, while the Enjoy Edition supports 40W charging. Cameras include a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, with an LED flash on the standard model but not on the Enjoy Edition.
All variants run HarmonyOS 7 and support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, but they lack Google Mobile Services. The tablet supports the Huawei M-Pencil Pro and an optional Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard sold separately.
The Enjoy Edition starts at 2,999 yuan, and the standard MatePad Air Z starts at 3,699 yuan, with PaperMatte adding 600 yuan. The standard model starts at 3,699 yuan for 8GB/256GB and goes up to 4,999 yuan for 12GB/256GB with PaperMatte.
The MatePad Air Z is currently a China-only model, and Huawei has not confirmed whether it will launch outside China.
