Huawei launches Ruiying Z10 detachable camera for Mate 90 phones

Official

Huawei has officially announced the Ruiying Z10, an external camera module with a 1-inch sensor and 10x continuous optical zoom for the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design.

Huawei has officially introduced the Ruiying Z10, a detachable external camera module made for the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. The module carries its own imaging hardware instead of relying only on the phone's built-in cameras.

It uses a 50MP 1-inch RYYB sensor with 10x continuous optical zoom, covering 24mm to 240mm equivalent focal lengths. The aperture ranges from f/2.0 to f/4.5, and the module includes optical image stabilization and autofocus.

The optics use a 19-element design in six groups, including ultra-low-dispersion and aspherical elements, along with a multifunction control ring for zoom adjustments. Huawei says the camera can move smoothly between 1x and 10x framing in video, and it adds XMAGE color styles and a dedicated camera interface.

The module attaches around the phone's camera area using Huawei's HyperClick mount, which the company says connects with a single click and allows instant sharing after shooting. Separate versions are offered for the Mate 90 Pro Max and the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design.

The Ruiying Z10 is an add-on sold separately; it does not come in the phone's box. The Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max itself costs 9,499 yuan in China, so the phone and the camera together cost 15,498 yuan.

In China the Ruiying Z10 is priced at 5,999 yuan and is available this week. Huawei has not detailed international pricing or availability, and it is not yet clear whether the module or its compatible Mate 90 models will launch outside China.
