OnePlus has officially announced its new OnePlus 16 phone in China earlier this week. The device features a 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2772×1272 and a 185Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus 16 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It packs a 9,000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
The phone has a quad-camera setup: a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP 3x telephoto, and a 50MP front-facing camera. It runs Android 17 with ColorOS 17.
GSMArena noted that the 185Hz refresh rate is limited to 165Hz in general, but unlocks the full rate in games. Open sales in China start on October 31, with pricing starting at CNY 5,999 (around $900 USD).
According to 9to5Google, the phone is not expected to debut elsewhere because OnePlus has pulled out of or scaled back in effectively every other global market.
