Android Headlines reported on Oct 20, 2026 that OnePlus is testing a 240Hz display panel, possibly intended for the OnePlus 17. The claim comes from Weibo leaker Smart Pikachu.
According to the report, the OnePlus 15 has a 165Hz display and the OnePlus 16 has a 185Hz panel. OnePlus told the outlet during a OnePlus 15 briefing that its focus moving forward would be on higher-refresh-rate displays.
The 240Hz panel is still only being tested, and the article says it could arrive next year. Since OnePlus launched the OnePlus 16 in China less than a month before the report, the OnePlus 17 is roughly a year away.
The Sharp Aquos R11 launched earlier in 2026 with a 240Hz display, though smaller at 6.5 inches, and Sharp achieved that rate through interpolation rather than native 240Hz. Very few games and apps support refresh rates above 120Hz, and on the OnePlus 15 only a handful supported 165Hz.
No price, availability or launch region for the OnePlus 17 has been stated, and OnePlus has not confirmed anything officially. For buyers in Egypt and the Gulf, the phone is not sold locally yet, and MobiArabia will add store prices when it arrives.
