New Leaks Reveal Huawei Mate 90 Series Design

Reported official renders of all four Huawei Mate 90 phones show a flat display with three punch holes and a redesigned back.

Gizmochina reported on September 28, 2026 that renders of the Huawei Mate 90 series appeared online, showing the front design of all four phones. According to the report, tipster Digital Chat Station shared the images on Weibo and described them as a "high-definition official render."
The renders show all four phones keeping a three punch-hole layout at the top of the display, which houses the selfie camera and 3D face recognition sensors. The screens appear flat with rounded corners and thin bezels, and the sides look flatter than previous Mate phones.
This matches earlier reports that Huawei is using a 6.9-inch flat OLED panel across the lineup. The three-hole layout dates back to the Mate 60 series in 2023 and was used on all four Mate 80 series models.
A second set of images showed the back of the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. The Mate 90 Pro Max back is split into two sections: a larger upper part with a fine ridged texture holding a big circular camera module with XMAGE branding, and a smaller smooth lower part with the Huawei logo. It was shown in green, pink, white and black, with the green model having a bright camera ring and lighter lower section, the white having a grey-silver lower section, and the black being the darkest with a matching camera ring.
The Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design uses an octagonal camera housing instead of a round one, with a raised strip down the center of the back printed with "Ultimate Design" and the Huawei logo at the bottom. It appeared in black, red and white, with the red model having a cream-colored lower section and the white model a silver-toned one. The report did not include any price, launch date, or availability details.
