- 165Hz system-wide refresh rate and up to 185Hz in compatible games
- Hardware-level brightness control down to 1 nit
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 with up to 16GB RAM
- 9,000mAh battery, 100W wired and 50W wireless charging
OnePlus has shared details about the display of its upcoming OnePlus 16 before the phone's launch event, which is set to take place next week in China. According to a report by Gizmochina dated October 9, 2026, the OnePlus 16 will be the first phone to feature the BOE X4 display, a fourth-generation Oriental Screen that uses custom X4 luminescent material developed jointly by OnePlus and BOE.
Every sub-pixel reportedly undergoes three rounds of calibration to improve color accuracy and image consistency. The panel also has hardware-level brightness control down to 1 nit, which should make nighttime viewing more comfortable.
The screen supports a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate, while compatible games can reach up to 185Hz. OnePlus claims that running at 165Hz consumes power comparable to the previous generation's 120Hz mode. The display integrates OnePlus's custom P4 display processor and Ultra-Dynamic Clarity Technology.
Reported specs suggest the phone will have symmetrical bezels measuring just 1.15mm on all four sides. It is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
The rumored battery is 9,000mAh with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The front-facing camera is said to be 50 megapixels, while the rear setup includes a 200-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto.
