Vivo set a launch date for the Vivo V80 earlier in the week, according to gizmochina. The announcement comes ahead of the full reveal, with leaks already circulating about the phone's specs and pricing.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav shared reported Indian pricing before the official launch. According to the leak, the 8GB + 128GB variant may cost Rs 63,000, the 8GB + 256GB variant Rs 70,000, and the 8GB + 512GB variant Rs 80,000. The tip does not say whether these are launch prices or MRP before bank offers.
For comparison, the Vivo V70 launched in India at Rs 45,999 for 8GB + 256GB, meaning the same tier on the V80 would cost about Rs 24,000 more. The Vivo V70 Elite started at Rs 51,999.
The V80 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch flat LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, with Vivo teasers confirming 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. It is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip with UFS 4.1 storage.
Reported cameras include a 50MP main with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 50MP telephoto with 3x zoom and OIS, and a 50MP selfie camera. Vivo is expected to bring 10X portrait zoom and 4K cinematic video to the V series with this phone. The battery is tipped at 7,200mAh with 90W charging, which Vivo says is the largest battery fitted to a V-series phone. It is expected to ship with Android 17, meaning OriginOS 7 in India. Other expected features include IP68 and IP69 ratings, a metal frame, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, an IR sensor, and a USB 2.0 port.
