What is RAM?
RAM (Random Access Memory) is the temporary memory a phone uses to run apps and keep them open in the background.
RAM is a type of fast memory inside your phone that acts as a temporary workspace. When you open an app, its data is loaded from storage into RAM so the processor can access it quickly. The more RAM you have, the more apps you can run at once without them closing.
In daily use, RAM determines how smoothly you can switch between apps. If RAM is small, the phone may reload apps when you return to them, causing delays. More RAM keeps apps ready in the background, making the experience faster and smoother, especially with games and heavy apps.
When buying, look for at least 4GB of RAM for basic daily use, and 6GB or 8GB for heavy multitasking and gaming. Flagship models may need 12GB or more. But remember, performance also depends on the processor and operating system, not just RAM.
