According to the tipster, Samsung's new charging optimization lets the phone sustain 55W to 56W for a longer period during the initial charging phase, making it charge a bit faster than the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The optimization is expected to improve overall charging speed by 2-3%.
During testing, the phone tops out at 58W as its absolute top charging speed, the tipster said. He noted the information comes from internal tests and that he cannot confirm the change will be on the final model.
Battery capacity is also expected to increase with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Ultra offered 45W charging, and the 60W charging on the Galaxy S26 Ultra did not add as much speed as expected. The Galaxy S26 Ultra can be fully charged in around 45 minutes.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to arrive in the first quarter of next year, alongside three other phones: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro. It is also expected to get a new camera bar on the back, an improved main camera, and improved processing.
