- Samsung has not officially announced the Exynos 1610 yet.
Samsung quietly launched the Galaxy A18 4G last month, according to SamMobile. The phone was expected to use a MediaTek chip, but it is powered by the new Exynos 1610 (model S5E8365).
Reportedly, the Exynos 1610 is not just a rebranded Exynos 1330 without 5G. It features a stronger Mali-G68 MP4 GPU with four cores, compared to the Mali-G68 MP2 in the Exynos 1330. The chip is built on Samsung Foundry's 5nm (5LPE) process, with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz.
It supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 or eMMC 5.1 storage; the Galaxy A18 appears to be paired with eMMC. The upgraded ISP supports 4K 60fps video recording, but the phone tops out at Full HD (1080p) 30fps. It adds native VP9 decoding via an upgraded Multimedia Format Codec (MFC) and uses a 4G modem instead of the 5G modem found in the Exynos 1280 and 1330.
In Geekbench 6, the phone scored 953 single-core and 2,144 multi-core. It scored 483,061 in AnTuTu and 1,434 in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, outperforming the Exynos 1580's GPU there, with no throttling according to GSMArena's review.
GSMArena published the Galaxy A18 4G review revealing details of the unannounced Exynos 1610. Samsung still hasn't published official details about the chip on its website.
