Notebookcheck reported on October 19, 2026 that Samsung's rugged Galaxy XCover Scan has leaked and has not been officially announced. The device is expected to succeed the Galaxy XCover7 Pro, which launched in May 2025 at $599.
According to the leaks, the phone carries the model number SM-G778B and was spotted in the GSMA database in August. SammyGuru also found a trademark application suggesting the device will be marketed as the Galaxy XCover Scan.
Three phones with model number SM-G778B were tested on Geekbench on October 14, and the entries point to a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690 chipset. Qualcomm says the 2025 processor is the world's first smartphone chip with an integrated UHF RFID chip, which may explain the Scan name, since it can open compatible doors or scan products.
The chipset supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and USB 3.1, but is limited to cameras with a maximum resolution of 32 megapixels. Qualcomm says the processor will receive platform updates until 2034. Geekbench indicates 8 GB of RAM in at least one variant, with scores of 1,069 single-thread and 3,142 multi-thread, only slightly faster than the Snapdragon 778G+ or MediaTek Dimensity 7300.
It is not yet known when the Galaxy XCover Scan will be released, and no price or availability has been stated for Egypt, Saudi Arabia or the UAE. MobiArabia will add local store prices when the phone officially arrives in the region.
